Apple, Google, they don't let you forget you're using their hardware.
Every time I try to use any of my Apple devices, I'm asked to log into iCloud. One device wouldn't stop, every 30 seconds, iCloud. I googled it and had to do something bizarre to make it stop.
I have never used iCloud, never logged in -- back the fuck off, you've got all of my other data.
My iPad is cross because the lightning cable isn't certified. Well, it cost $10 so how could it be? At least it's stopped pretending it can't charge.
Google's helpfulness is so heavy handed I can't actually use my Chromebook without logging in.
It's a lot easier to accept you're a prisoner when you're not force to wear a choke collar.
