there is comfort in not knowing
which leaf will fall next, what path
it will sail through the air, if a little
gust of wind will grab it and pull it
here and then there

it is restful to just watch it float
not knowing if it will finally come to
rest on the pavement or on the grass
or if a passing car will send it
flying a few moments longer

I said I don't believe in god because
randomness is so much easier to bear
than incomprehensible order, but
randomness may simply be order in
disguise, and order rationalized randomness
